  • Christian Voices in Unitarian Universalism (edited by Kathleen C. Rolenz)

Fifteen personal stories from laity and clergy who understand Christianity as part of their relationship with God and Jesus and to contemporary Unitarian Universalism. These women and men arrive at their liberal Christian faith by several different paths. Their spiritual guides include a Bedouin, an AME preacher, a monk, atheist parents, an angry hometown pastor, an Anglican priest and a church ladies’ guild. Some of the crucial experiences along the way are as traditional as reading the Bible, while others are more surprising—performances of Jesus Christ Superstar, the Bernstein mass and listening as a client testifies in court. An intimate look at what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist Christian today.

Kathleen Rolenz has served on the Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship (UUCF) Board of Trustees since 2004. She is the former editor of Good News, the UUCF newsletter, and parish co-minister at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. To purchase a copy of Christian Voices, click here:

  • Simply Pray:  A Modern Spiritual Practice to deepen your life, by Erik Walker Wikstrom

Offering fresh answers to the age-old question, "Why pray?" Wikstrom ably deminstrates how to create and use a prayer-bead practice of your own making. Wikstrom is the pastor of First Parish in Brewster, MA.

  • Teacher, Guide, Companion: Rediscovering Jesus in a Secular World, by Erik Walker Wikstrom

Drawing from the personal experiences of a seasoned pastor, the scholarship of the liberal Jesus Seminar and the gospel accounts of the life of Jesus, Teacher, Guide, Companion challenges readers to reexamine their own relationship with Jesus Christ and its significance in the 21st century. Integrating both secular and religious source materials, Wikstrom demonstrates how a close examination of historical findings and the Gospels can lead to a renewed faith in Jesus Christ. The field of Jesus study, which is widely dominated by academics, will benefit from this analysis by a working minister. Wikstrom, born a Presbyterian and raised a Methodist, is senior minister of the First Parish Brewster, Unitarian Universalist Church.

Relive the Spirit of Revival 2009
Bishop Carlton Pearson and The Gospel of Inclusion

DVD 1 - Opening Dynamic Worship, featuring the music of many of the All Souls church choirs and Music Director Rick Fortner, and including the New Dimensions choir and Pastor David Smith who are with All Souls and were with Bishop Carlton Pearson at his previous church; including a stirring sermon on "What The Lord Said (while I was eavesdropping)" by the Rev. Gerald L. Davis of Church of the Restoration--UU in Tulsa. Other liturgists include Revs. Marlin Lavanhar and Tamara Lebak of All Souls, and Rev. Ron Robinson of The LivingRoom Church and the UUCF in nearby Turley. Price for single copy is $15.

Bishop Carlton PearsonDVD 2 - Keynote Worship, Bishop Carlton Pearson and The Gospel of Inclusion; beautifully filmed, it opens with a reflective prayerful meditative spirit capturing the record snowfall as the snowstorm that hit that day falls outside the clear windows of the New England style church. Then slowly it fades into the praise music of the New Dimensions Chorale, now a part of All Souls church, and then into the worship and the sermon/talk by Bishop Pearson on his spiritual journey past present and future and the Gospel of Inclusion and the God of Love Unconditional, with the moment near the end when he acknowledges one of his adversaries who often debates universal salvation and who has come to challenge him, and he comes down from the pulpit to embrace him. This service also includes opening praise music and more.

These are good not only for individuals, but also to show in small groups, for church libraries, to give as gifts to clergy and seminarians and friends.
